Manchester United have been looking for a striker all summer, it is the position that Ten Hag has been targeting the most, however, with just days to go before the start of the season, the club has not been able to provide Rashford with an attacking partner who can solve the goalscoring issue that was such a weakness last season.

Many names have appeared in the last month, some have only remained as rumours and others have been gaining momentum, but nothing concrete; one of the players that the club has been looking for the most has been Harry Kane, the English striker has become a priority for Ten Hag who will not rest until he can get him or at least find someone who can get close to the level of play that Kane has.

However, things have been far from straightforward for United, as every time they have tried to get close to the player, they have been stymied; firstly, earlier this month, when the Red Devils started looking for a striker, they asked Tottenham about their availability for Kane and although they were initially open, they suddenly stopped the talks and demanded that United cease any attempts to sign him.

While this has not been a good move for Spurs, due to Harry Kane showing an interest in leaving the London club and joining a club where he can win silverware, this is when Manchester United could approach the striker, however, in a further update on the case it could be that United will forget about the striker once and for all.

Kane's price tag makes United shudder

Manchester United would already know the price to pay to sign Harry Kane, the 100 million pounds, apparently would not be a problem for the club, what could be complicated, would be the 30 million that the striker is earning as a salary at Spurs, because not having much budget, United could not support his salary and would have to look for another option.
