Manchester United continue to look at ways in which they can strengthen the team; there are still positions on the pitch that the manager has not improved, so before the Premier League begins he should focus on the club's weaknesses, with the intention of surpassing last season's success.

For that reason, Erik Ten Hag would not want to lose negotiating strength with the issue of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund; as we have already been talking about the front line of the team is one of the weakest positions that the club has, the lack of goal and opportunities, have made during this summer the situation of the striker has become one of the main focuses of attention for the coach.

Hojlund has been United's number one target for the past few weeks, with his play quickly attracting Ten Hag's attention. However, because the club were in negotiations for Inter goalkeeper André Onana, they were unable to open a parallel deal for the striker because the Red Devils do not have much of a budget for this season, so they need to close one signing first before they can move on to the other player.

Hojlund has shown a lot of openness and interest in joining Man Utd, as according to statements, the player has always dreamed of playing at Old Trafford, this certainly excites all the fans who hope to see the third signing of the season as soon as possible, but the situation becomes a bit complicated with the latest update given by the club.

Hojlund's signing has involved two United players.

Atalanta have put a price tag of 85 million euros on the Danish striker, that's a bit high for what United would be willing to pay, for that reason the club in the first instance would have offered English player Mason Greenwood as a swap option, but with the Italian team not interested in the player, it would cause the Red Devils to think about getting rid of Donny Van Beek as a better proposal to bring in the striker.
