No regrets, Ten Hag's surprising statement after Onana's arrival and De Gea's departure

Manchester United can finally make official the arrival of their new goalkeeper, after several weeks of arduous negotiations, the team managed to reach an agreement with Inter Milan for a signing of 60 million pounds, Ten Hag had been looking hard for this player and now they are reunited at Old Trafford. 

The team is currently concentrating to play the third game of the pre-season, the Cameroonian goalkeeper first travelled to Manchester for medical tests in Carrington, and then took a flight to New York to prepare with his teammates, this certainly brings mixed feelings for all fans, because we have the illusion that Onana do a great job, but at the same time it is strange to see a new goalkeeper wearing the shirt of the Red Devils. 

As previously mentioned, David de Gea spent 12 years with the club, with which he won the last Premier League title and although he went through a not so good time due to the hegemony that began to glimpse our neighbour, there is no doubt that the Spanish goalkeeper always defended the goal as few goalkeepers have done. 

However, during this summer, United would let go one of their legends, not being able to reach an agreement to reduce his salary, as the 375,000 pounds that De Gea was earning was a very strong impact for the team as Onana was estimated to earn less than half the salary; therefore, Erik Ten Hag could make a statement after noticing that many fans did not like the decision to let the Spanish goalkeeper go.

According to some reports, Ten Hag reportedly said it was "the right time" to let De Gea go. "I think David had a big contribution to our performance level last year and the result, all the clean sheets he made, but there is also the performance of the team. There is a time for every player when the club is going to make changes and it was the right time from our perspective.
