Great players have worn the number 7 shirt at Manchester United, what it means to wear it, according to the players is something indescribable and a real honour, for that reason not many footballers have the privilege of wearing it.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the history of football and Manchester United, since his arrival at the club in 2003, he completely revolutionized the team, his ability, his ball striking and his great goals, made him quickly become the best 7 that Man Utd has ever had.
After his departure, the No. 7 was left without an owner and his former teammate Antonio Valencia, was chosen to wear it in the 2009 season, the Ecuadorian was already a leader with the Red Devils, as he was captain of the team at that time, in addition to his footballing level, would make you think that he was worthy of wearing the jersey.
However, the opposite happened, as in a recent interview, he commented that he had been offered to wear that number and felt flattered and glad to take it, but as time went by he began to feel the pressure of wearing the 7, so he preferred to change to the 25 which was his usual number and which he had become very fond of.
Just as many players have become United legends with this shirt, there are others who have not been able to live up to the demands, as in their other teams were the best in their position, but with the club, failed, the most remembered names on this list are: Michael Owen, who was a great star at Liverpool and Real Madrid, but with United did not perform as expected and there began the decline of the sevens; Angel Di Maria who could only be one season at the club and ended up being a substitute, finally Memphis Depay and Alexis Sanchez as the most remembered players who could not shine.
