Erik ten Hag has asked the Manchester United board to get rid of all the dead wood that is in the club, in order to shorten the number of players he has in his squad, as he believes that he has too many players at his disposal and can’t guarantee every single one of them the game time they all expect. He is also looking for new players.

For this reason, young players have been loan listed so they can go out there and make a name for themselves in another club or even another league. This way they can get regular playtime and gain first team experience. The first one to go has been Ethan Laird who has left for Queens Park Rangers for the rest of the season.

The next one in line looks to be Amad Diallo, who has quite a few offers on the table from teams like Blackpool, Sunderland, Anderlecht, Besiktas, and Sampdoria, according to Jonathan Shrager. United is yet to make a decision but really wants the player to continue developing as he cost the club €22 million last year.

Today it was reported by Samuel Luckhurst that James Garner has been transfer-listed by the club’s football director John Murtough. Surprisingly the Red Devils’ board is willing to let go permanently one of their most talented young players formed in the academy. Apparently, Murtough wants to sell Garner in order to obtain the money he will spend on signing Adrien Rabiot.

More players leaving

Also, other youngsters could be on their way out for the rest of the season in loan deals. Players like Charlie Savage and Zidane Iqbal are rumored to have offers from Championship and League One teams. In the meantime, the club is evaluating these bids in order to choose the best destination for each player.
