This forward is set to miss Manchester United’s first game of the season

This morning, the news coming out from Carrington is that Anthony Martial suffered a hamstring injury during today’s training session. However, journalist Laurie Whitwell, from ‘The Athletic’ says that this is a minor injury and the player should not be out of action for a long period of time; but he might not make it for Sunday’s game.

Whitwell also noted that Martial is only expected to miss out the first game of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion. There is hope that he might return for match day two of the Premier League when United travel to Brentford. If he is not fully recovered by then, his first game may be against Liverpool on August 22nd.

This situation will definitely give Erik ten Hag a headache, as the only other centre-forward as his disposal at the moment is Cristiano Ronaldo. Although, who would not want Ronaldo as a starter?
