This morning Manchester United’s new manager, Erik Ten Hag held an interview with Viaplay Sport Nederland, where he talked about this new exciting chapter in his career. However, when he was asked about what happened during the last pre-season match against LaLiga side, Rayo Vallecano, at Old Trafford, he didn’t hold back.

This past Sunday, the ‘Red Devils’ were playing their last friendly game in preparation for the start of the new season. This was Cristiano Ronaldo’s first match under Ten Hag and he even was included in the starting lineup. The Portuguese star wasn’t having his best performance, so he was taken off the pitch during halftime. As the second half was being played, Ronaldo was caught leaving the stadium.

The Dutch manager said that CR7 wasn’t the only player who left mid-match: “There were more who did this. This is unacceptable. We are a team; we are a squad. You have to stay until the end”. So far, we only know that the other player who left before the final whistle was his compatriot, Diogo Dalot. We might know who else walked away from the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ over the next few days.

Let’s remember that Cristiano Ronaldo missed most of the preseason due to family reasons, which he club respected. Nevertheless, he was looking for a new team with his agent to leave United this transfer window to play the UEFA Champions League this upcoming season. However, no club has made a formal offer for him.

Erik Ten Hag is furious by the situation

This indiscipline comes just when Manchester United is about to start the Premier League season on Sunday against Brighton & Hove Albion, so of course Erik Ten Hag isn’t happy about it. He has to get his team on the same page so everyone can help the club reach its objective and attitudes like this only create problems in the dressing room.
