It has definitely been a very long summer for Manchester United fans. With the arrival of Erik ten Hag as the new manager, the supporters were hoping for him to make a revolution in the squad getting rid of the dead wood and bringing in some world-class players to Old Trafford. But, to this day, this has not been the case.

Only three players have been signed, and although maybe they aren’t some of the best players in the world, they are of the manager's liking and fit his system. Tyrell Malacia came from Feyenoord, Christian Eriksen was signed as a free agent after six good months at Brentford, and Lisandro Martínez played under ten Hag last season at Ajax.

Despite this, the main target for the club this transfer window has always been Frenkie De Jong, but after one month of waiting for the player’s answer, the Red Devils were searching for other alternatives available in the market. Currently, the club is negotiating with Adrien Rabiot and his mother/agent to convince him to sign.

However, today it was reported by Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla, that Manchester United made an offer last month to sign Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain, but the player rejected the move as he only wanted to join Juventus since May. At this moment, the player has an agreement with the Serie A giants, while Rabiot is just a couple of details away from signing with United.

Paredes would have been great

The Argentinian has become one of the best players in his position in the last couple of years with PSG. He is now a vital part of his national team ahead of the FIFA World Cup where they are one of the favorites to win the tournament. He would have been a better option than Rabiot, but if the midfielder didn’t want to come, then the club did well in moving away.
