Ever since the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager, three new players have arrived at the club: Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martínez, and Christian Eriksen. The last one is one of the most talented players in the Premier League during this last decade. However, last summer he suffered a cardiac arrest during a match at the Euros that shocked the world.
After fearing for his life, he then recovered well after he was fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrator. However, his football career was in stake as he couldn’t play with his team (Inter) in Serie A back then because it was prohibited to play in Italy while fitted with such device. But then he returned to England on January when Brentfort gave him the opportunity to play with them signing a six-month contract.

Manchester United, all or nothing to sign Frenkie De Jong
During his short period of time with the Bees, the Danish midfielder showed that he still is the same player as before the incident. This made Manchester United sign him this summer as a free agent. Erik ten Hag knew his Ajax background and didn’t hesitate to ask the club to sign him this transfer window as his quality and experience could be beneficial the team.
The 30-year-old had this to say to the club’s media about his short time at Old Trafford: “The fans have been very good to me. In Norway, at the stadium there, the fans have taken very good care of me. I feel the love from them. We’ve been around Manchester, but at the moment it’s sunny of course, so it’s a completely different vibe to what I was expecting”.
Christian Eriksen was also asked about his former team Brentford as Manchester United will play against them today. Eriksen only had good things to say about them: “They have some very good players. Ivan Toney is very good. David Raya has been good, Norgaard, of the Danish guys. The Danish guys are always good! They have good players in midfield”.
