Manchester United are loving life at the moment after beating Arsenal and securing their fourth win in a row. The Red Devils are looking like the best team in the Premier League but now should start focusing on the next fixture, which will be against Real Sociedad this Thursday on the opening day of the UEFA Europa League.

Real Sociedad drew 1-1 at their home this Saturday against Atletico de Madrid in their fourth game of the season. The Spanish club hasn’t had the greatest start in the LaLiga while they currently sit in ninth place with 7 points out of 12, as they only have won two games, lost one, and drew against Atleti this weekend.

They will arrive at the game on Thursday without too much confidence after Barcelona defeated them 4-1 two weeks ago. Real Sociedad also sold their main striker Alexander Isak to Newcastle United in the final week of the transfer window, and their best player and captain Mikel Oyarzabal is out with an injury until October.

If they weren’t afraid, they should really be right now after Manchester United put an end to Arsenal’s winning streak of five games in the Premier League. The Spanish team also saw the Red Devils defeat Liverpool at Old Trafford two weeks ago, so they will take a conservative approach to the match to try and get a tie.

A good memory

The last time both teams faced each other was not so long ago. Back in 2021 when Manchester United reached the Europa League final, we beat Real Sociedad in the round of 32. The first leg ended goalless at Old Trafford, but in the second leg, United beat them 4-0 with a great performance from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
