Things haven’t quite started the way Casemiro would have imagined when he signed with Manchester United three weeks ago. He was coming from Real Madrid after winning the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Supercup, where he was named Man Of The Match against Eintracht Frankfurt, so he was coming in hot.

However, Erik ten Hag has decided not to start him after three matches played where he has only come out of the bench in the final minutes of the games. The reason might be that the current midfield trio is playing really well and it's helping the team get the recent wins over the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

Scott McTominay is a player that most fans wanted to see benched after Casemiro’s arrival to Old Trafford. However, the player keeps proving that he doesn’t want the 30-year-old Brazilian to take his spot in the midfield and is doing everything he can to stay in the starting line-up ahead of the new signing.

Every Manchester United fan had been asking for a new defensive midfielder for years, and when the club finally signs arguably the best player in the world in his position, McTominay has decided to start playing well and looking like prime Roy Keane in the middle of the field. He is looking better than ever and he is actually helping the team.

He is not the only one

Another person that doesn’t look like he wants Casemiro on the team is the manager. Erik ten Hag didn’t ask for the former Real Madrid footballer, as he was only brought as an alternative after failing to sign Frenkie De Jong. The Dutch manager keeps proving this by not playing Casemiro from the start in games even when he costed the club a lot of money.
