Manchester United’s October calendar has suffered a slight change after the Premier League announced that the matchday 13 fixture between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge will be brought forward a day. At first, it was scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 23rd, but now will be played on Saturday the 22nd with the kick-off time still to be confirmed.

This has been the second change in Manchester United’s calendar in October after the Manchester Derby against City at the Etihad Stadium was moved to Sunday, October 2nd. That will be a very game-stacked month where the Red Devils will have two matches a week, playing every three to four days between Europa League and Premier League fixtures.

Manchester United are still not done in the transfer window
Finally, Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Antony

The last time Man United traveled to Stamford Bridge for the Premier League was in last season’s 1-1 draw where Jadon Sancho opened up the score after a big mistake of Jorginho back in November of 2021. The last time these two teams faced each other was in another 1-1 draw at Old Trafford when Cristiano Ronaldo canceled Marcos Alonso’s spectacular volley.

It will be a tough match between Blues and Red Devils just as their last encounters have been. Both teams have had a shaky start to the season with Chelsea being in sixth place with 7 points, while Manchester United are sitting in eighth place with 6 points. However, both squads could be looking very much different by that time since the transfer window is still open until September 1st.

Potential new faces

Thomas Tuchel's side are still trying to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from FC Barcelona, and they’re about to close Wesley Fofana’s signing from Leicester City. On the other hand, Erik ten Hag’s team has just closed the signing of Antony from Ajax and will announce the arrival of the goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka in goal.
