Ten Hag to decide Cristiano Ronaldo's fate at United ahead of huge game

Manchester United’s Manager Erik Ten hag has decided to make an unexpected crucial decision about Ronaldo ahead of their huge fixture in the Europa league. This comes after a recent clash between manager and player, with Ronaldo refusing to come on as a late sub in United’s win over Tottenham where he walked into the tunnel while the match was still ongoing despite being sparingly used by Erik ten Hag this season.

The outburst of divided reactions about Ronaldo’s misconduct did not deter Manchester United from releasing a statement backing their manager and subsequently suspending Ronaldo for the game against Chelsea, forcing Ronaldo to train away from the first team while serving his suspension. Shortly after United’s statement, the Portuguese captain put out a post addressing his misconduct and rooting for his team while he served his suspension during United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Not Rashford nor Sancho, the crucial player Erik Ten Hag needs to give more gametime according to fans

With a huge fixture ahead in tomorrow’s Europa League game, Ten Hag will seek to restore the Star player to the starting lineup against Sheriff for a much-needed win in a bid to top the group which will guarantee them an automatic slot in the UEFA Europa League round of 16. Ronaldo returned back to first-team training after his suspension was served and will be looking to make his mark if he starts up front in tomorrow’s game.

Ronaldo has so far started all four Europa league matches for United this season scoring just one goal in their 2-0 win over FC Sheriff in the first league of their group stage match. The Portuguese star will be hoping to add to his tally in the UEFA competition, even though his preferred competition is the Champions League where he remains the all-time highest goalscorer.

WILL RONALDO AND TEN HAG FIND A MIDDLE GROUND?

Although the recent issue has been addressed, Thursday night’s Europa league game will offer a glimpse of what the relationship between Ronaldo and Ten Hag will be as the January window closes in. Until then according to Ten Hag, Ronaldo still remains a crucial part of his plan this season and he will be looking forward to seeing his reactions on the pitch in their next game.
