In a surprising turn of events, three different French media outlets have come out today and said that Paris Saint-Germain is looking a new striker in the market. They all have agreed that their number one target is Manchester United’s number 10 Marcus Rashford, as they are looking for a forward who can play on the wings or in the middle of the attack.

Rashford meets all these characteristics, but Cristiano Ronaldo does too. So, it seems strange that they would not target him because he has been looking to leave Old Trafford all summer alongside his agent Jorge Mendes. That being said, it is also not the first time PSG has tried to sign the young English forward in recent years.

Phil Brown, from ‘NBC Sports’ and ‘talkSPORT’ has said that the French side wanted him back when Thomas Tuchel was their manager. He even adds that Rashford and his people met with the Parisians. However, he ended up staying at United and extended his contract with the club that he loves. In spite of this, this year he could make a different decision.

According to Santi Aouna, from ‘Footmercato’, the 24-year-old footballer wants to join Paris Saint-Germain. Other reporters also agree that he is keen for the transfer to happen as he would be open to a new challenge at this stage of his career. He also might feel a little bit frustrated by his situation at Manchester United with a lot of fans constantly insulting him for his bad performances.

Manchester United reaction

Sami Mokbel, chief football reporter from the ‘Daily Mail’ calmed the club’s fans by saying that the Red Devils board is relaxed by the situation because earlier this month, there was an approach from PSG for Rashford, but it didn’t lead to anything. It is still very soon to jump to conclusions, as the news just broke out.
