One of Erik ten Hag and Manchester United’s main problems at the moment is the center of the field after Scott McTominay and Fred seem to not be good enough following the two defeats against Brighton and Brentford at the start of the Premier League season. Donny van De Beek still isn’t given too much playtime and the club wants a world class player in that position.

After two weeks of trying to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, the Red Devils have finally moved on from the French player and now are targeting Real Madrid’s Casemiro, who is probably, the best defensive midfielder in the world. For that reason, it will be a very difficult task to get him out of Spain’s capital since he will be expensive.

According to one of the Red Devils' closest sources Samuel Luckhurst, Manchester United has approached Real Madrid about the possibility of signing the Brazilian midfielder. The reporter also said that Casemiro is a more attainable signing than Frenkie De Jong at this moment, but it is still unknown if the player wants to leave.

Ramón Álvarez de Mon from Marca, reported that the 30-year-old footballer is considering a potential move to Old Trafford since he would be given a considerable wage increase. Álvarez de Mon also says that the Spanish club would be open to considering the bid if Casemiro asks them to leave in the next couple of days.

A new challenge?

Real Madrid has just won the UEFA Champions League last season and the UEFA Supercup this past week with Casemiro as one of their main players. So it doesn’t look likely that he would make a move to Manchester United to play the Europa League. However, the Merengues just bought Aurélien Tchouaméni in his position and that could have made him angry enough to force a move.
