In what looked like the perfect opportunity for Manchester United to redeem themselves after the defeat suffered against Brighton last week on the opening game of the season at Old Trafford, it is starting to look like a nightmare that Erik ten Hag and his players can’t seem to wake up to. United is losing 2-0 at half-time.

After 10 minutes of a competitive game, David De Gea caused Brentford to take the lead with a horrendous mistake. After a low-driven shot from Da Silva that didn’t seem to have much danger in it. Somehow, the ball managed to slip through De Gea’s gloves. Minutes later, he and Christian Eriksen both lost the ball from a goal-kick and the home team didn’t miss.

The Manchester United players looked shocked while Brentford had complete control of the game and just kept scoring goals. The Red Devils looked static and were only watching them score. Erik ten Hag was clearly angry as he was shaking his head in disapproval of what his team was doing at the Gtech Community Stadium.

At this point, Brentford fans were chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning” and “You’re going down with Fulham” making fun of the visitors. It didn’t take long until Man United fans also started chanting against the players: “You’re not fit to wear the shirt”. Minutes later, some supporters took out a banter that clearly said “Glazers Out”.

The manager has work to do

Erik ten Hag has to do something about this shambolic performance at half-time inside the dressing room. Substitutions have to be done and scream at the players letting them know this is unacceptable when you are wearing the Manchester United shirt. Hopefully, they can get a couple of goals back. Then, signings have to happen this week.
