Manchester United’s number one target for this summer’s transfer window is Frenkie De Jong, but every day that passes, the possibility of watching the Dutch midfielder reunite with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag keeps reducing as the player doesn’t want to leave FC Barcelona and also Chelsea has the advantage over United because they play Champions League football.

The Red Devils have now initiated talks with Adrien Rabiot after reaching an agreement with Juventus yesterday for a fee of around £19 million. However, the French midfielder would not be the only one arriving in that position on the pitch. The club has shown interest in Sergej Milinković-Savić, but they haven’t made an official bid yet.

For that reason, the Italia newspaper ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ reported today that the Serbian player’s possibilities of staying at Lazio this season are starting to increase. This is because of the fact that Manchester United has not made an offer. The player wouldn’t mind staying in the Serie A another year because he is really happy there, but if United call, he could reconsider it.

A world-class player

Ever since Sergej Milinković-Savić signed for Lazio in 2015, he has become an all-around midfielder and is considered among the best players in that position. He is Lazio’s main man in the middle of the pitch because he plays as a ‘Box to box’ kind of player. He can score goals, assist, and give a hand to his defense thanks to his physical power.
