Following yesterday's disgraceful defeat away at Brentford, Manchester United players had a day off schedule in order to regain fitness. However, Erik ten Hag ordered earlier today to cancel the rest day for the players and told them to report to Carrington’s training center for an extra training session as a consequence of their performance.

The Dutchman put the players through a tough training session out in the sun with more than 30ºC degrees. Paul Hirst, from Times Sport, reported that ten Hag made all of them run 13.8 km because collectively, Brentford players ran 13.8 km more than the Red Devils, who only covered 95.6 km between all of them.

Paul Hirst also added that during today’s training session, the manager told his players that they had not met the high standards that both he and the club demand, as they had one of the most embarrassing performances in the club’s history losing 4-0 to the Bees. Hopefully, the players have all received the message and change their attitudes.

Change is coming

The good thing about yesterday’s match is that there is no way the situation can get worse. This has to be a wake-up call for the manager and the club’s board. It is very likely that this will make Manchester United concrete some signings during the week ahead of the fixture against Liverpool on Monday 22nd.
