Erik ten Hag is trying to sign another former Ajax player

Manchester United are looking for different options for the right-back position after Erik ten Hag asked them to find someone who can compete for a place in the starting eleven against Diogo Dalot. The new boss doesn’t value Aaron Wan-Bissaka and has opened the door for him in case an offer comes through in the final weeks of the window.

While Crystal Palace has shown interest in buying back Wan-Bissaka, the Red Devils have already been offered Thomas Meunier yesterday. Although they were considering the possibility of signing him, the Dutch manager’s priority at the moment is his former Ajax player Sergiño Dest, who will most likely leave Barcelona.

Last night it was also reported by one of FC Barcelona's closest sources Gerard Moreno, that Barca will make a bid to Villarreal for the signing of Juan Foyth. The former Tottenham Hotspur player transfer would force Dest to find a new destination as his manager Xavi Hernández doesn’t count with him this season.

Gerard Romero added that Manchester United and Barcelona have just started negotiating for the United States full-back. According to talkSPORT, the 20-time champions of England have offered €17 million for the player, which is close to the €20 million that the Spanish club was asking. The clubs should reach an agreement soon since both parties want the deal to happen.

The 52-year-old manager has proven this transfer window that he really likes to sign his former players from Ajax. Frenkie De Jong, Antony, and Sergiño Dest have been some of his most desired transfer targets. Until now, he has only been able to sign Lisandro Martínez from his Ajax days, but has done everything to bring the others too.
