Donny van de Beek fell short since joining Manchester United. The Dutch midfielder was known for his technical ability, vision, and passing. He began his career with Ajax, where he won the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup in 2018–19. He also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League that season.

In August 2020, he moved to Manchester United for an initial fee of £35 million. Despite his impressive CV, van de Beek has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford and hasn't been used by the new United manager Erik ten Hag. We all thought that the Dutch manager could get the best of him but that hasn't been the case.

He's been through a lot of ups and downs, and it seems like he's never really been able to find his footing. Even after a loan to Everton, the Dutch player couldn't settle himself in the Premier League due to many injuries hurting him when he was on Frank Lampard's team.

Now, it looks like Erik ten Hag is ready to give up on him. According to reports, the Dutchman is looking to offload van de Beek in the winter transfer window.  This is a really surprising development, considering their past. When they both were at Ajax in 2018 van de Beek was a key part of ten Hag's squad.

Where will he go next?

There have been reports linking him with a move to multiple Premier League Newcastle United, back to Everton, and Crystal Palace. Whichever club van de Beek ends up at, one thing is for sure: he'll be looking to put his disappointing spell at Manchester United behind him.
