Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a lot since the arrival of Erik ten Hag to Manchester United. Even before he signed the deal with the Red Devils it was reported the Dutch manager wanted the Portuguese player out of the team. But the transfer couldn't be done and United's number seven stayed.
Now, we haven't started in any Premier League game since last month and he wasn't even required in the humiliating defeat against Manchester City on the weekend out of "respect for his career" and that Anthony Martial needed more minutes after his injury. But Cristiano is done with games and the board, according to the press, has recently told him he could leave in January.
Here's why Cristiano was left on the bench in Manchester City's 6-3 defeat
The top scorer in history will leave after the World Cup and ten Hag won't stop him
Nevertheless, there are only a few players that can fill the tremendous gap that the Portuguese legend would leave. But the Dutch manager has already someone in mind. Cody Gakpo, the Dutch winger that plays for PSV Eindhoven. He has been linked with a move to Manchester United ever since last summer.
Cody Gakpo is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a winger for PSV Eindhoven. He is a product of the PSV youth academy, and he made his professional debut for PSV in 2015. So far this season he has made over 14 appearances, scoring 10 goals and nine assists in all competitions for the club. Right now he is under a former United player: Ruud van Nistelrooy. Would he be a good fit for ten Hag's United?
