Real Madrid organized a farewell to Carlos Henrique Casemiro after his transfer to Manchester United was confirmed by both clubs. The player was really emotional alongside his family and said goodbye to what was his home for almost 10 years. After that, he held a press conference where he was asked about his new adventure at the Theatre of Dreams.

About the moment he knew he wanted to leave: “I spoke to my agents after the Champions League final. I had a feeling that my cycle was over at Real Madrid. I like the Premier League and I’ve always said I wanted to play there one day. Now I join the biggest club in England, but I will always be a Real Madrid fan and I’ll celebrate every goal”.

The midfielder can’t wait to get started and play with his new teammates: “Signing for Manchester United is a very important challenge for me. I spoke to my wife just three days ago and she said I look like an 18-year-old kid super excited. If it was up to me, I would play today for United against Liverpool. I’m really excited”.

He will quickly become a fan favorite with words like these: “I want to show Manchester United the way I feel about the club, my respect. Everything I did here, I want to do there too. I want to show my fighting spirit, hard work, and professional attitude. People who know me know it wasn’t for the money. If this was about money I would’ve left four years ago”.

The last dance

Casemiro also said he can’t wait to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo “I haven’t spoken to Cristiano but I’m very excited to play with him again, I hope he stays. He is incredible, one of the best to ever play this game”. The Brazilian will also reunite with Raphael Varane. The three of them won four Champions League titles together at Real Madrid, and hopefully, they’ll spread their winning mentality to the team.
