The Netherlands’ national team announced the provisional squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures where they will face Poland and Belgium in the final week of September. What is really interesting is the inclusion of Manchester United’s player Tyrell Malacia in the 32-player provisional squad list, which could be reduced.

The Red Devils’ new signing has started the season with his new club with a bang. At first, it didn’t look very promising after being benched in the first two games of the Premier League. However, the left-back played the second 45 minutes in the 4-0 defeat against Brentford and hasn’t been dropped from the team ever since.

He was the only good thing coming out of the disappointing game against the Bees and has carried on his good performances in the last three matches helping the team get three wins in a row. He has been praised by Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, who even compared the 23-year-old to his former teammate Patrice Evra.

The former Manchester United manager and current manager of the Dutch national team must be relieved that Malacia has been playing regularly ahead of Luke Shaw at Manchester United since he has been recommending all of his players not to change clubs this summer so they could arrive in good form to the FIFA World Cup in November.

Things are looking good

Tyrell Malacia is one of the new names on the Netherlands’ national team. He made his debut with them just one year ago when he was still at Feyenoord, and has only played five games. He quickly became a regular starter for Louis van Gaal in recent games and if he keeps the momentum going, he will be the starter in the World Cup.
