One of the biggest signings Manchester United made this summer was Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. Erik ten Hag asked the club to make an effort in signing him, which they did after paying up to €58 million to the Eredivisie champions. The signing has started things well after winning the club’s Player of the Month of August award in his first month at the club.
In addition to his good performances on the pitch, Martinez has become a fan favorite in such a short period of time because of his interactions on social media. The Argentinian is very active on his Instagram account where he has made a habit of commenting on his new teammates' posts after every match showing leadership and good team spirit.

The most recent examples have come right after last night’s win over Leicester City, where he and the rest of the team kept a clean sheet for the second consecutive game. Diogo Dalot posted a picture of him and Lisandro on Instagram and the former Ajax player replied in the comment section with: “What a machine you are”.
Not only with Dalot, but he also congratulated his partner at the centre-back position Raphaël Varane with a comment that got all Manchester United fans excited. Martinez replied to Varane’s post after the game: “What a pleasure to play by your side brother”, showing once again their great relationship in and out of the field.
Lisandro Martinez has started in all of the first five games of the season and has formed a new centre-back partnership with Raphaël Varane sending Harry Maguire to the bench. The Frenchman and the Argentinian instantly clicked in the middle of the defense and have kept two clean sheets in a row. Varane is looking motivated by Martinez as they celebrate together every time they make a tackle.
