One of the many players who have been linked with a move to Manchester United throughout this week is Christian Pulisic. As it was reported by Andy Mitten from The Athletic on Wednesday, the Red Devils were interested in signing the young North American winger as he was reportedly loan-listed by Chelsea.
Today, Chelsea’s manager Thomas Tuchel held a press conference ahead of their match against Leeds United this Sunday. The German coach was asked about the rumors around Pulisic, to which he answered: “Yeah, I know there is a lot of talk. We will not comment on our players and we will not encourage our players to go out at this moment”.

Tuchel said that he needs all of his players at the moment as they deal with injuries: “We’ve had two training sessions with 18 players. In a schedule when we play once a week, this is not a problem. If I look at the schedule that is coming, with Southampton and during the week two Champions League matches it’s coming. It’s right in front of the door and we need a lot of players”.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager left the door open to Pulisic in case they sign someone: “We need a lot of quality players to be competitive, so at the moment, we have what we have”, he said. The Blues are currently in talks with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Anthony Gordon, so if they end up signing them, maybe they would let the 23-year-old winger go.
Although James Olley from ESPN, reported today that Christian Pulisic was going to push Chelsea to let him go on a loan deal while Manchester United wait for him, the Red Devils are already moving for Antony, who is Erik ten Hag’s number one priority. Also today, Anthony Martial returned from injury, so he’s now another option for the Dutch manager on the attack.
