Even though Cristiano Ronaldo has been training with the rest of the team for over three weeks now after he missed the entirety of the pre-season tour under Erik ten Hag for “personal reasons”, he still wants to leave Manchester United since the end of last season after the team failed to qualify for this year's UEFA Champions League.

It is no secret that the 37-year-old striker is desperate for a move and the fact that he has been looking for a new club all summer with the help of his agent Jorge Mendes, but they have failed as they still haven’t found a single team willing to make an offer for the Portuguese star. Even clubs like Bayern and Atlético de Madrid have come out publicly and said that they were not interested in him.

Apparently, his luck is about to change since Ben Jacobs from CBS Sports Golazo, has reported that Borussia Dortmund is currently having internal discussions by people at the club about the possibility of signing Cristiano Ronaldo, with Jorge Mendes encouraging them to do so. The German club still hasn’t made a decision.

Dortmund could be a real possibility. They just lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City and the striker they bought to replace him is currently dealing with health issues and will be out of their manager’s disposal for an indefinite time. They play in the Champions League and according to Ben Jacobs, Ronaldo likes the idea of playing in the Bundesliga as he still hasn’t played in it.

Only time will tell

David Ornstein from The Athletic, reported today that Manchester United would be willing to sell Cristiano Ronaldo before the transfer window closes on August 31st, but only if they receive an offer that suits all parties. The Portugal captain also wrote on his Instagram account that he will give an interview in two weeks to clarify his situation.
