The French news portal L’Equipe reported that the Spanish second division team, FC Andorra are looking to sign Hannibal Mejbri on loan before the transfer window closes on September 1st. The team owned by FC Barcelona’s defender Gerard Pique would offer a loan deal with a purchase option set at €25 million, which would be triggered if they are promoted to La Liga.

However, L’Equipe also said that other English clubs have shown interest in taking Mejbri on loan. The media outlet claims that teams like West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City have also approached the Red Devils, who would prefer sending the young footballer on loan to the Championship so he can gain experience in such a physical league.

Erik ten Hag has been trying to get rid of the players that wouldn’t have much protagonism this season. The vast majority are youngsters who the Dutch manager really likes, but prefers sending them on loan for a year so they can come back better and stronger. That could be another reason why they wouldn’t want to send him to Piqué’s team.

The 19-year-old midfielder also wants to be loaned out this summer because he wants to play regular football so he can be called up by his national team with Tunesia for the FIFA World Cup in November. The United academy player made his debut with Tunesia back in 2021 and already has 16 appearances with them.

The player born in France was signed by Manchester United from AS Monaco for €5 million in 2019 and has been part of the U-18 and U-21 squads ever since. He was even named the academy player of the year one time. He made his Manchester United senior debut in May of 2021 replacing Juan Mata against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
