While Manchester United and Erik ten Hag are still working on the signing of Antony, who is the manager’s first choice to reinforce the attack of the team, media outlets are still adding new alternatives that the club could be considering if Ajax don’t accept the new offer the English Giants are preparing to do in the next couple of days.

After losing the main core or their team that brought them recent success, they are not willing to let go of Antony, unless they make a crazy bid that surpasses the €100m mark. United will try to convince them with the €94m but could definitely include some add-ons in order to reach an agreement with the Dutch giants.

If Manchester United don’t get Antony, the first alternative is Cody Gakpo. The club has already agreed on personal terms with the 23-year-old forward and he would cost around half of what Antony does. Now, Spain news portal Marca, has reported that Memphis Depay could be a new alternative, as he is on his way out of Barca.

After just one year in Spain, the 28-year-old has been told by FC Barcelona that he must leave as soon as possible so they could register their newest signing Jules Koundé. The Dutch forward was close to joining Juventus in recent days, but apparently, his wage demands were too high for the Italian side. According to Marca, the signing would cost around €10 million.

Former Red Devil

Manchester United paid €34 million to PSV Eindhoven for Memphis Depay back in 2015 as he was one of the most promising stars in world football. The player came in and took the legendary ‘No. 7’ and he was supposed to take the team back on top. However, things didn’t quite go as planned and he was sold to Lyon two years later for half the price.
