The Red Devils' expectations have changed, or at the very least have undergone some change or alteration. It was very painful to lose against the city rival in such a resounding manner, they were exposed before the eyes of the football fans, it was a pitiful visit to the citizens' stadium.
Pep Guardiola used a few variations in his match strategy against the inexperienced Erik ten Hag, who is still in the process of adapting his team and his level. Although the Dutch coach believed that they had a higher level than what was seen, the team left a lot to be desired in this match.
These are the players leaving Man Utd after the embarrassing defeat in the Manchester derby
Red Devils newcomer who has done more than Maguire
They never found the spaces, Pep Guardiola's strategy was risky because he looked for a way to decipher the game that Man Utd would have, he had no choice but to field a team that could beat the Red Devils, the tactic was to put players who could cope with the lineup that Erik ten Hag repeated.
For Manchester City it was the right approach, as the team gave a lesson in quality of play and order on the pitch, a hard-working team that won the Manchester derby 6-3. He could not contain his desire to make changes, but it was already too late, even for that reason he said he did not include Cristiano Ronaldo, supposedly out of respect for his enormous career.
Repetitiveness was the situation that Man City took advantage of, the team wanted to ensure that with the alienation they had been successful they were going to be successful again. The situation gives much food for thought, as the team was exposed and there was no capacity to respond to the beating that the Citizens' team gave them.
