Life is good at Manchester United at the moment. After a shaky start to the season, last night’s victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford and the recent signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid have the fans very excited about this new project led by Erik ten Hag, who is still looking to sign more players before the transfer window shuts down.
Two of the players on top of the new manager’s shortlist are Eredivisie’s Antony and Cody Gakpo. Both players have already been approached by the Red Devils throughout the summer. Antony has always been the top priority for ten Hag as he saw Gakpo as the perfect alternative for his former player at Ajax. However, things have changed and now he wants to sign both of them.

Manchester United win their first game of the season against Liverpool
It was reported last night by Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel that Cody Gakpo’s agents made it clear to him on Monday that the player wants to make the move to Manchester United. Last season’s Dutch Player Of The Year and his representatives are currently waiting for the English club to make a bid to PSV Eindhoven.
In the meantime, the Red Devils are working on signing Antony as soon as possible. Yesterday, it was reported by Jornal O Globo and The Sun, that the club had agreed on personal terms with the 22-year-old winger and where about to submit a new increased offer of €94 million, which gets really close to the €100m that Ajax was asking for.
Antony uploaded a picture of himself watching last night’s game between Manchester United and Liverpool in a clear hint at the club. You can imagine that Cody Gakpo was following the match closely as well. After that performance with the electrifying atmosphere that was inside Old Trafford, both players must be desperate to sign with the Red Devils.
