Manchester United are supposed to face Real Sociedad tonight at Old Trafford on the opening day of this season’s UEFA Europa League. However, the long-awaited debut of the Red Devils in this European competition could be at risk for an unexpected reason.
News just broke out from England as Queen Elizabeth II is currently facing some health problems and is under medical supervision. At her 96 years of age, this is concerning news for everyone in the country as everyone is expecting an update on her situation.
Erik ten Hag finally opens up about the Europa League, does he hate playing in it?
After having a great start to the season, this player could leave Manchester United in January
If God forbids, she ends up passing today, the fixture would most likely be suspended as the whole country would be shutting down all activities out of respect for the Queen, who has been on the throne since 1952, more than anyone in history.
If the game is suspended, then it most likely will be rescheduled, but it would be very difficult for UEFA to find a suitable date as both teams have matches scheduled in their respective leagues this Sunday. Next week matchday two of the Europa League will be played. The game could probably be moved to tomorrow night.
