Today was a tough day to every single Manchester United fan as they all were really excited ahead of a new season with a new manager with fresh ideas. What he and the team had shown during pre-season encouraged the supporters in believing that today they would start thing off with a good note. However, this wasn’t the case as the ‘Red Devils’ lost to Brighton at home.
After the final whistle, manager Erik ten Hag and captain Harry Maguire spoke to the national press to give their first impressions of the game. Then Diogo Dalot was interviewed by MUTV, where he admitted being frustrated: “Disappointing. I think everyone felt that today was a disappointing result. We had a really bad first 45 minutes”.
Manchester United legend is worried about the team's midfield
Being Manchester United’s manager is a hell of a job, says Erik ten Hag
He believes the team did better in the second half: “Second half we got a little bit better but it’s still not enough to win a game like this. We knew it was going to be tough. We need to keep our heads up and start working for the next game”. Dalot also added that they need to analyze what we did to try to improve.
It is fair to say that a lot of Manchester United supporters expected the team to win against Brighton today after the good pre-season under ten Hag. However, the Dutchman needs time to really show what he can convey to his players. But more important, he needs more signings because the squad is not good enough to be at the top.
