It is safe to say that by now, everybody knows that Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to play at Manchester United this season. He and his agent Jorge Mendes have spent the entire summer searching for any clubs interested in signing him. However, he still has not received any offer from top clubs in Europe.

The main reason Ronaldo is looking for a way out is simply because he and the club failed to qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League. The Portugal captain hates the idea to playing in the Europa League, which is the second biggest club competition in the continent. He has never played in that competition and isn’t planning on doing it anytime soon.

Every single big club in Europe has been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, but none made a move. Teams such as Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have even come out publicly and confirmed that they are not interested and begged the media to stop linking him with them as they had zero interest in signing him.

After all this, Ronaldo has always been hopeful that the club that he loves would help him from the situation he is in, but Real Madrid haven’t made a bid too. Even today, a Madrid fan upload a video to social media asking Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez to sign CR7, but Perez responded laughing: “Again? He’s 38 years old”.

Cristiano Ronaldo destined to stay

Whether he likes it or not, the Champions League top goalscorer in history won’t play in the competition this year. He has to be self-critic and realize that Man United not qualifying for the UCL this season is also because of him. Even though, he was the top scorer for the team, he was part of the squad that failed.
