Manchester United has been in contact with Casemiro and his agent since the referee blew the final whistle in the humiliating defeat against Brentford last Saturday. The club made an approach to Real Madrid about the player but still hasn’t made an official bid yet for the 30-year-old footballer but remains optimistic.

Yesterday it was reported by one of the closest sources to the Spanish giants Josep Pedrerol, that the signing could be happening after Casemiro was really tempted on making a move this summer after the Red Devils reportedly offered him a five-year contract and double the wages he currently earns with the Merengues.

Today it was reported by Relevo that Real Madrid’s president Florentino Pérez, met with the Brazilian midfielder at the training center in Valdebebas and told him that despite them wanting him to stay, they would not get in the way of the transfer if he decides to leave because he has earned the right to chose.

Fabrizio Romano has also reported today that the player will have a conversation with his manager Carlo Ancelotti in the next hours to have a discussion about his future. The former Sao Paulo centre-midfielder feels really tempted by the move to Old Trafford but won't decide anything before talking to his coach.

An update from his teammate

After all the backlash that the rumors have caused, Real Madrid’s midfielder Federico Valverde was spotted today in his car signing autographs to fans as he was leaving a training session with his team. The people surrounding the car asked him about Casemiro, to which he responded: “He hasn’t said anything. I don’t know anything. Of course I want him to stay”.
