Cristiano Ronaldo has spent the entire summer alongside his agent Jorge Mendes looking for a club that will play this season’s UEFA Champions League after he and Manchester United failed to qualify for the biggest club competition in the world. He wants to extend his goalscoring record in the tournament, but he has not received any formal offer.

As the weeks have progressed during this transfer window, it has now become less likely that Ronaldo ends up leaving Old Trafford this season. He has already played a match under Erik ten Hag in last Sunday’s defeat at home against Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening game of the Premier League season.

Despite of this, the Italian source Calciomercato reported today that Napoli and Manchester United could try an operation that benefits both parties. The Italian news site says that United is interested in Hirving Lozano and could bid £40 million. However, they would accept £20m and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is valued at £20m at his 37 years of age.

The deal is very unlikely to happen

This news brought by Calciomercato can only be considered pure speculation. It looks like CR7 has already accepted the fact that he will stay at Old Trafford one more season and play the UEFA Europa League for the first time in his career. On the other hand, not one single England news site has confirmed that the Red Devils are interested in the Mexican forward.
