Manchester United started work on their January signing as early as possible and wrapped up their signings within the first two weeks of the window. A striker and goalkeeper were brought in to add more depth to their current squad as they prepare for the second half of their season.

Wout Weghorst was the eventual signing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who left in December after the mutual termination of his contract. While De Gea got an extra goalkeeping competition in Jack Butland after Martin Dubravka was recalled back from his loan.

But two massive injuries in the final weeks of January though Manchester United back into the deadline transfer frenzy to acquire a new player. Donny Van De Beek was injured in against Bournemouth and ruled out till next season while Christian Eriksen got injured against Reading.

Eriksen has now been ruled out till April following the confirmation from Erik Ten Hag. This latest injury forced United to scramble for a new midfielder as they are now light in the middle of the pitch, with only Casemiro, Fred, and Scott McTominay.

According to confirmed reports, Manchester United has now signed Marcel Sabitzer on a straight loan from Bayern Munich till the end of the season. Sabitzer was reportedly keen on the move for the opportunity to play this season and work with Erik Ten Hag.  The swiftness of the transfer has triggered celebratory reactions amongst United fans as they welcome their newest addition.
