Another week goes by and Manchester United still hasn’t signed a new right-back. Although the club completed the signing of Casemiro, who will undoubtedly be an upgrade in the middle of the field, Erik ten Hag still wants to bring in someone who can provide competition to Diogo Dalot on the right-hand side of the defense.

The former Ajax manager has made it very clear that he doesn’t count on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and hopes someone makes a bid for him. Some reports suggest that Crystal Palace is willing to buy him back, but will offer no more than £10 million for him. Maybe if he ends up leaving this week, United will sign someone soon.

Today it was reported by Football Insider, that the Red Devils have turned their attention to Achraf Hakimi from Paris Saint-Germain. He is being considered the top priority for the club and they are working on making a move soon in order to sign him before the transfer window comes to an end on August 31st.

However, this deal seems very unlikely to go through because PSG is a very difficult club to negotiate with. Also, the full-back is happy in the French capital where he will play in the UEFA Champions League. Nevertheless, this was also said about Casemiro and he ended up arriving at Old Trafford despite playing in the Europa League.

Achraf Hakimi is happy

The Moroccan doesn’t want to change clubs once again. In the last four years, he has played for Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund (on loan), Inter, and Paris Saint-Germain. He wants to settle down with his family in France where they are happy. On the football side of things, his team will play with a back three this season which he feels more comfortable with since he prefers being a wing-back.
