Erik ten Hag and Manchester United are still looking for new alternatives for the goalkeeper position after realizing that David De Gea might not be in the best moment of his career. The Spanish keeper made two horrendous mistakes last week against Brentford that caused the Bees' first two goals out of the four that they ended up scoring that day.

At the moment, the second-choice goalkeeper in the squad is Tom Heaton, but he doesn’t really count for the manager. For that reason, the club has been searching for some possible candidates in the transfer market and have made a shortlist with names like Tim Krul, Yann Sommer, Asmir Begovic, and Alex McCarthy.

Apparently, there is a new name added to the list. German news portal BILD just reported that Manchester United have made a bid to Eintracht Frankfurt for Kevin Trapp. Although Frankfurt haven’t declined the offer, it is very unlikely that they will accept it because they don’t want to lose their starting goalkeeper when the season has already started.

A great option

The 32-year-old goalkeeper just won the UEFA Europa League last season with Frankfurt, while being a crucial part of his team. He also already has experience at a big club with high expectations like Paris Saint-Germain. It is still unknown if he would be willing to leave the club where he is the first-choice keeper just months away from the World Cup.
