According to reports, Leicester City is interested in signing Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek from Manchester United to replace Youri Tielemans. Let's remember the French midfielder is in the last year of his contract with the Foxes, so if they want to get something in return for him, a swap deal could be on the table.
If you don't remember, van de Beek used to be a versatile midfielder who can play both centrally and out wide. We got used to seeing his technical ability, vision, and passing when he was an Ajax player. Unfortunately, he hasn't shown any of his abilities for the Red Devils ever since arriving in 2020.
A new verdict after the defeat against City, ten Hag wants the board to do this
Ten Hag still wants another midfielder: another ex-Ajax player on the agenda
With Tielemans set to leave the Foxes this summer, Van de Beek could be an ideal replacement. He would add quality and depth to the Leicester midfield. Also, Youri Tielemans has been linked to a move for a Big Six club, so if United were to make a move for him, including the Dutch player in the operation could benefit everyone involved.
According to reports the first offer from the Foxes is just a loan with the option to buy for 15 M pounds, but wouldn't it be better to negotiate for a swap between these players than get money on the table? The Dutch could relaunch his career and Tielemans could be at a top club as he was looking for.
