Manchester United and Real Sociedad will clash tonight at Old Trafford on the opening day of the UEFA Europa League of the 2022/2023 season. Meanwhile, fans keep debating on what line-up will the Dutch manager select to start things up in our European journey. Most of them are hoping to see the return of Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting XI.

Let's remember that Erik ten Hag has repeated the same starting XI in the last few games ever since his team got the win against Liverpool three weeks ago. He only changed one thing in the last match when we faced Arsenal last weekend where he decided to play Antony instead of Elanga.

Other than that change, the former Ajax manager hasn’t changed a single thing in his team as he has played with this XI players: David De Gea, Diogo Dalot, Raphaël Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho.

After four games in a row with the same team, most of them should be tired and if he plays them again tonight they might suffer an injury. For that reason, the supporters are expecting that the coach will make some rotations in the squad in order to give an opportunity to other players and rest the more regular starters.

The possible line-up

Erik ten Hag's potential starting XI for tonight: Martin Dúbravka, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelöf, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Antony, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Marcus Rashford. This would mean that the new goalkeeper will make his debut with the Red Devils’ shirt and Casemiro will start his first game since signing.
