Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the main topics in football all summer after he and his agent Jorge Mendes were searching for any big European club to sign him so he could play in the UEFA Champions League after Manchester United and he failed to qualify for this season’s biggest club competition in the world.

While looking for a new team, Ronaldo missed all of the pre-season tour in Thailand and Australia after asking the club for permission to stay away while he was dealing with some “family and personal issues”. Since no club made a bid for him, he eventually returned to training with his teammates just a week before the start of the season.

He didn’t start against Brighton & Hove Albion in the opening Premier League fixture but did play some minutes in the second half and couldn’t help the team avoid being defeated. Last weekend, he was in the starting eleven in the shocking 4-0 defeat against Brentford. The Portugal captain was visibly frustrated waving his hands around in the air and shouting at his teammates.

Around all the speculation regarding Ronaldo’s future, which remains unclear, he went on Instagram and wrote that all this will be answered in a few weeks: “They know the truth when they interview in a couple of weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.

The Manchester United legend got really angry after Cristiano’s comment as he wants him to speak up now, not in a few weeks: “Why does the greatest player of all time (in my opinion) have to wait two weeks to tell Manchester United fans the truth? Stand up now and speak. The club is in crisis and it needs leaders to lead. He’s the only one who can grab this situation by the scruff of the neck!”.
