Manchester United’s latest signings of Casemiro and Antony have not only gotten the fans excited to see them on the field helping the team, but also the players in the squad. One of the players that got the happiest about these signings is Fred, who already knows them from Brazil’s national team. The 29-year-old midfielder was questioned by the club’s media about his fellow countrymen.

Fred loves having familiar faces around him: “I’m really happy that two Brazilians have joined. Sadly Alex left. In any case, I’m delighted that two have come in. I think it will help the club a lot as they’re both top players who will improve the team. Their arrival is a big deal and will have a huge impact. I think we’ll go from strength to strength”.

When asked specifically about Casemiro, he believes that his experience will be helpful: “First and foremost he’s a top player. I’m happy to be able to play alongside him, both here at Manchester United and in the Brazilian national team. He’s a top guy and his track record speaks for itself, he’s had a glittering career and played for Real Madrid for many years”, he told MUTV.

A lot of people thought that with the signing of Casemiro, Fred would be relegated to a place on the bench. However, this isn’t necessarily the case since they have played together in the midfield with Brazil in the past. In fact, they have an impressive record when they play together. In 17 games, Brazil won 15, drew one, and lost another. Not only that, but in 15 games they have kept a clean sheet.

When could they play together?

Fred hasn’t started in the last two matches but could be making his return in the starting line-up against Leicester since Erik ten Hag needs to rotate the players to keep everyone well-rested. Casemiro made his debut in the last minutes against Southampton and could be playing alongside Fred in tomorrow’s match. Antony won’t be available when they face the Foxes, but maybe he will debut against Arsenal on Sunday.
