Erik ten Hag addresses the transfer market rumors before deadline day

As scheduled, Manchester United's manager held a press conference before tomorrow’s night Premier League fixture away against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Erik ten Hag was questioned about several topics, but mainly about the club’s activity in the final days of the transfer since it will be closed on Thursday.

When he was asked if Antony and Martin Dúbravka's signings will be the last signings this summer, he said: “I think so. For this window, it will be the end. But when there’s is great oportunity you have to always be alert as a top club”. It was reported earlier by Fabrizio Romano that the club were still open to signing Frenkie De Jong if he suddenly changed his mind.

When the press questioned him about recent rumors of the club trying to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, he said that he still counts on him: “Of course, Aaron is still in my plans. We will keep him and he will stay in. so this squad will go from September until the minimum, January. We will play with this squad for the season”.

The former Ajax manager also said that Antony still isn’t part of the team since the paperwork is still being dealt with: “First we have to sign him! There’s an agreement between the two clubs, but the paperwork is not done, so I cannot go too deep into it”. There were reports suggesting that there was a problem with his Visa. Hopefully, it will be completed on time.

If what Erik ten Hag said is true, then Manchester United’s summer transfer window has come to an end. The Dutch manager signed five players: Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony, and soon it will be announced Martin Dúbravka’s arrival in a loan deal until the end of the season.
