After 22 years at the club Jesse Lingard left Manchester United early in the summer to join the newly promoted side Nottingham Forest. The former academy player was once considered one of the most promising young players in English football. But sadly, he never fulfilled his potential as he struggled to play regularly during his time at United.
It is fair to say probably the best moment in his came one and a half year ago when he was loaned out at West Ham United for six months where he reunited with his former manager at the ‘Red Devils’ David Moyes. The 59-year-old Scotsman surprised everyone by doing something he couldn’t do when he coached Manchester United: making Lingard one of the best players in the league.

When asked about Jesse’s move to Nottingham, Moyes said he is really sad about it: “I was surprised. I thought he would come here, and I’ve got to say the club made him a really good offer”. He also added that the club owners did everything they could in order to get him back to play with ‘The Hammers’, but for some reason, he never arrived.
Back in 2013, after Sir Alex Ferguson retired after 26 years in charge of Manchester United, he appointed his fellow countryman David Moyes, who was Everton’s coach at the time. Moyes signed a six-year contract, but he was sacked after just 10 months at the club. He took the then Premier League champions and left them in seventh place when there were only four games left of the league.
