Fabinho praises Manchester United players before their match

Liverpool’s midfielder Fabinho talked to The Telegraph yesterday ahead of the Manchester United and Liverpool fixture that will take place today at Old Trafford. He also took the time to defend Fred from criticism. He believes United fans just choose him as a target for when things go wrong: “In general Man United have not been successful in the last seasons so you try to find a solution or you try to put the fault on some of the players and sometimes I think Fred is that player”.

Fabinho claims Fred is always playing with the Brazil squad, but did admit, that he lacks confidence: “Sometimes I don’t really understand the criticisms with Fred because he is a good player, in the national team he is always a starter, he always plays good and, yes, sometimes the player needs a little bit more of confidence to play good”.

It is true that when Fred goes away to play for his national team, he always performs better than when he is wearing the Manchester United jersey, but it is because he plays alongside Casemiro or Fabinho.
