As we all know, Manchester United won’t be playing in the UEFA Champions League this season after a terrible year that ended up with Ole Gunnar Solskjær getting sacked and Ralf Rangnick short-term as interim manager. This caused the club to sign Erik ten Hag as the new manager for this season and years to come.

The Red Devils will participate in the UEFA Europa League, which is the second-tier European competition. For this reason, Cristiano Ronaldo spent the entire summer trying to find a club that will play in the Champions League as he is always looking to be the best player in the world.

Eventually, he didn’t find any club interested in him and he had no choice but to stay at Old Trafford and play in the Europa League for the first time in his career. However, due to his absence from the pre-season tour as he was looking for a new club, Erik ten Hag has not played him as a regular starter.

Obviously, this has made him angry because he considers himself the best player in the world. He hasn’t been included in the starting XI in the last four games in which the team got four wins as the manager has stuck with the same players that have given him the results that he wanted.

The proof that he doesn’t care

Erik ten Hag would make rotations for the first time in three weeks for the opening fixture of the Europa League against Real Sociedad this Thursday. Players that haven’t been playing regularly like Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro, and Harry Maguire would reportedly start against the Spanish team in order to rest the players that have been playing.
