Probably one of the most talented and promising young academy players for Manchester United in the last few years has been loaned out again after failing to dethrone David De Gea in goal. He still very young and is looking for more minutes to be considered by England’s coach, Gareth Southgate for the FIFA World Cup in November.
Dean Henderson will play for the newly promoted team Nottingham Forest until June 2023 as he wasn’t sure he wouldn’t start over De Gea this season. The 25-year-old talked about his situation with the British radio station ‘TalkSPORT’, where he said that he had been lied to by Manchester United before the Euro 2022.

Besides Alex Telles, this other fullback will leave Manchester United
“The conversation I had, coming out of the EURO squad, was that you’re coming back here (Manchester) to be the number one goalkeeper”. He then explained that after having been infected by Covid-19, no one at the club followed through with anything they had told him months before. This past season, he only played three games for the first team and two more matches with the reserves team.
A huge contrast compared to the previous season, where he played 26 games while battling with De Gea to be the starting goalkeeper for Manchester United. ‘Deano’ considers that wasting 12 months at his age, was really unfair: “I turned down so many good loans last summer for that reason, and they wouldn’t let me go. It was frustrating”.
Even though, he was promised the number one spot as a goalkeeper, you can’t just erase David De Gea from goal. He is one of the most experienced and highest paid players in all the Premier League. And let’s not forget, he stayed loyal to Manchester United all the way through this turbulent decade while being one of the best in the world.
