While Manchester United keeps preparing ahead of the next fixture against Liverpool on Monday, Christian Eriksen spoke to the United Review magazine about his feelings before the match, which is one of the biggest games of every season for the Red Devils fans due to the historic rivalry between the two clubs.

The 30-year-old midfielder believes that a win on Monday could be a turning point in United’s season and help them gain confidence: “If you get a result in a big game, you get the confidence to go on to the next one, and that’s definitely going to help you. But it’s definitely a good stepping stone to win the derbies, for sure”.

The former Tottenham and Brentford player knows the team has been performing poorly and hope to give the fans a reason to be happy: “First we need to do better than we did in the last home game. So we need to get the fans going. We need to start well, get going into the game and play well in general. The fans expect a good game and so do we”.

The Danish footballer said he won’t get distracted by the fans if there are protests against the owners: “Of course, you don’t know what’s going to come to you from the fans, before or in the game. But when you’re locked into the game, you don’t really recognize the feeling around you. You're just really locked in and focused on the game”.

The next match is a “six-pointer”

Last season Liverpool humiliated Manchester United in their two Premier League fixtures. Jurgen Klopp’s team won 5-0 at Old Trafford, and then 4-0 at Anfield. However, this time both teams are struggling at the start of the season as neither of them has won a game after two matches played.
