After signing with Manchester United and completing his first training session with his new teammates, Carlos Enrique Casemiro talked to ESPN Brasil about this new chapter in his career. He said that he was very happy to play for Manchester United and couldn’t wait to start playing for his new club.

Casemiro said he had a good feeling right from the start: “Manchester United have been very affectionate from day one, they made me feel comfortable. Also, the coaches were very attentive and charismatic. The feeling of being in a big club and being able to play in a big league like the Premier League is very good and very important”.

When he was asked about not playing in the UEFA Champions League this season, he replied: “Well, I already have five, don’t I? But just because I have five, doesn’t mean I don’t want Manchester United to win it. The Champions League is the most important tournament, everyone wants to win it”. He also said that he’ll be very sad if they don’t qualify next season.

Despite some people having criticized United for signing a player who is 30 years old, he claims that he feels like a kid: “The desire is to learn and to know new things. I’m feeling like a boy! I want to play, I want to help my teammates, and I want to help Manchester United. If it was three years from now, maybe I wouldn’t have this desire to make a move, but I’m still 30 years old”.

Casemiro's debut

The Brazilian midfielder just completed his first training session with the team yesterday and could be available to play against Southampton on Saturday. He is already match-fit since he has already played two matches with Real Madrid this season, so it is very likely he will have some minutes on the field against the Saints.
