One of Ajax's closest sources Mike Verweij from De Telegraaf, reported earlier today that Manchester United had made a new increased bid of €90 million to Ajax for the signing of Antony. Now Fabrizio Romano confirmed that this offer has once again been turned down by the current Eredivisie champions.

The Dutch giants remain with their position saying that Antony is not for sale, despite the player already telling them that his only desire is to play for Manchester United this season. The 22-year-old has also refused to take part in the training sessions with his teammates since last Friday, and wasn't part of the squad in their last match.

As of today, Antony continues refusing to train with the club and will not be part of the squad again this Sunday when they face FC Utrecht. Despite the player’s clear intention of leaving, Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder said at a press conference yesterday that he is very confident that the young Brazilian footballer will stay with them one more year.

Earlier today it was also reported that the current chief executive of Ajax Edwin van der Sar had stepped into the negotiations between the clubs since he has a history with both of them. At first, Manchester United fans looked at this as a possible helping hand, but it looks like he also is trying to make Antony stay in Amsterdam.

The never-ending story

At this point, both clubs are just going crazy. Manchester United bidding €90 million for Antony, and Ajax rejecting it. Now it is being reported by Jonathan Schrager that Anony’s camp is now worried that the English club will not come back with a new bid in hand after their last proposal got rejected once again.
